2018 Grand National Early Favourites
Whether you’re in it for the Grand National 2018 betting or for the chance to wear your gorgeous new race-track outfit, there’s no doubting that 12-14 April in Aintree is going to be a brilliant weekend for everyone involved.
The world’s most famous steeplechase is hotting up with horses qualifying for this year’s major.
One for Arthur, ridden by Derek Fox won the showpiece steeplechase last year. It had started the race as the fifth favourite.
Blaklion has been made the early 10/1 favourite with Betfair’s sportsbook for the 2018 Grand National, and one can see why with both the shape and performance of its recent races. Nigel Twiston-Davies’ horse also won at Aintree back in December. However, the horse did finish in fourth, 8 lengths behind One for Arthur, having been the 8/1 favourite 11 months ago.
The bookmakers have Minella Rocco as the second favourite currently, with Betfair pricing the Irish horse at 14/1. Over the past 12 months the eight-year-old has adapted well to three mile races and is widely-expected to challenge for the Gold Cup in April, despite the grand spectacle being a four-mile race itself.
Total Recall has seen its odds slashed down to 16/1 joint-third favourite after some punters fancy W P Mullins’ horse that won at Leopardstown earlier this month. Who knows, maybe it even has Arnold Schwarzenegger’s backing…
Along with Total Recall; The Last Samurai and Definitely Red are currently priced at 16/1 with Betfair.
As always, the Grand National is anticipated to be a thrilling three-day event that kicks off on Thursday 12 April with the event virtually sold out already.
Here is a list of the of the current Grand National favouites if you fancy running an office sweeptake.
